In September of 1939 Russia invaded Poland and the BSSR was enlarged. But, what happened to the Vilnius region? It would become the capital of the LSSR after June of 1940 but what happened to Vilnius in between September and June? Was it not part of the BSSR? or just unorganized occupied territory?
