Why are there so many Roman statues of Rome's enemies? Scenes of figures like Ambiorix in battle or enemies being captured I understand, but who would've commissioned a statue of Hannibal oe a Gaulish warrior or Cleopatra and why? What is the context of these kinds of portraits?
