Was Ancient Egyptian civilization "Classical" for African civilizations in the way that we consider Greece and Rome to be classical for Europe, or was Ancient Egypt more connected to a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern system of civilizations with little lasting impact on the rest of Africa?
