The Wikipedia article on Hercules' Club amulets is pretty sparse, but it implies that they're an earlier equivalent to Thor's Hammer amulets. Is this true? Would a Germanic tribesman equate Hercules and Thor/Donar? Did German Donar wield a hammer like Thor? If so why wear clubs?
