Oilcloth and waxed cotton uses in early America 1700’s & 1800’s? Are these two materials interchangeable in their uses? I have watched multiple videos in the manufacture of both materials. Oilcloth seems to be used for things we now would use a tarp for. Waxed cotton for clothing and tents.
