Do any reputable historians take seriously the Belgae theory of English (i.e. that the Belgae brought Germanic speech to Britain centuries before the Anglo-Saxons, supposedly explaining a) lack of Celtic words in English and b) greater divergence between English and other W. Germanic languages)?
