I have been reading about Williams Parry's 1819 Arctic expedition. During the crew's 10 months stuck in the ice, a regular newspaper, the "North Georgia Gazette," was published and distributed. How much paper (or parchment, or whatever was used) did ships of this time and mission have on board?
