Thomas Jefferson had relations with both Mrs. Jefferson and her half sister, Sally Hemmings. Today, we would call the relationship Thomas Jefferson had to Hemmings Sister-in-law, but at the time, would this lable have applied to Black People? If not, what label would have been used?
