On Dec. 19, 1836 President Sam Houston of the Republic of Texas relived Robert Coleman of his command of the Texas Rangers. Houston had Coleman arrested, but he was later released. On July 1, 1837 he allegedly drowned in the Brazos River while fishing. Is there any evidence Houston had him killed?
