I've read that imagery associated with the Shinto wind god Fūjin originates with the Greek god Boreas, transmitted first to the Greco-Bactrian kingdom, and then to Japan along the silk road. Is this claim accurate? What are other examples of long distance cultural transmission across Eurasia?
