John Hastings, 3rd Earl of Pembroke died in 1389 while jousting at the Woodstock Palace, apparently from injuries to the groin. Was he treated for his injuries before death? Were there medical experts at standby during jousts like this? Or did people just have to watch him die from his wounds?
