Today (1st), as well as traditionally being the Feast of St Peter in Chains, had a commemoration of the Seven Holy Maccabees. Seven Brothers and their mother who died at the hands of Antiochus IV rather than forsake God’s law. The event is recounted in 2 Maccabees 7.
