On August 1st, 1963, Roy Orbison released "Blue Bayou" b/w "Mean Woman Blues" on 45rpm. The song was an international hit for Orbison. It later became Linda Ronstadt's signature song, with which she scored a Top 5 hit with her cover in 1977.
