Is there a way to make an app added to the startup folder close itself after a second?

My Dell Precision M2800 has been stuttering every minute or so when watching YouTube. I'm pretty sure it only happens on battery power. I upgraded the screen to 1080p recently. Does this look like a power issue? It should turbo to 3GHz.
