How to get rid of that excess dark red bar above the taskbar?

Cant choose a mic. I clicked the box and I can't select any mic. It registers my headset, it also shows up on the tab "Audiogeräte verwalten" which is managing audio-inputs but can't select it in the one tab that matters. Any fixes ?
