When a dentist places a seal or bond on a tooth, how does bacteria & microscopic debris not get trapped underneath it?

Am I loosing enamel on my teeth? This has become noticable in the last few months. It doesn't feel smooth. No sensitivity. Brush 2-3 times a day floss 1 a day mouth wash 2

Dentist said the recession was likely from brushing too hard, and to not even think about any sort of surgery. I’m pretty worried since I’m only 24, what are your thoughts? Should I go see a gum doctor?
