Where did we get the name "Greece", for a nation that refers to itself as "Hellas" and its people as "Hellenes"?

There's several Roman Emperors (Caligula, Elagabalus, Carinus, etc) who have a reputation for being sexually perverted. In those types of cases is it usually a justified reputation, or just the result of later historians wanting to paint them in a bad light?
