Spain's regions of Catalonia and the Basque Country are fiercely maintain their own identities and even demand independence. Why don't other regions like Leon or Aragon want this?

I am currently reading Cesar's books "Gallic wars" and he is often talking about two kinds of fortified camps, one built before battle to protect legionniaries' stuff and one built "to stay in winter". I guess that the second is something more"definitive". Could you explain the differences ?

IAMA an historical archaeologist who researches the period 1100-1750AD. I work on a range of topics, from earthquakes to medieval villages, but this AMA focuses on the archaeology and history of prisoners of war in the 17th century, especially Scots immigrants who were transported to New England.
