Although eradicating mosquitoes wouldn't lead to an ecological disaster and there aren't, say, any whale sized flying creatures which subsist mainly on a diet of mosquitoes, is it ridiculous to think for many species (e.g. some birds, bats and spiders) mosquitos are the aerial equivalent of krill?
