Forensic "sciences" that have often been portrayed to the general public as hard evidence (bite analysis, carpet fiber matching, burn patterns, etc.) are often not scientific. How reliable is DNA evidence in identifying criminals? Is it unfairly hyped as foolproof in popular culture and media?
