I was hiking and a rattlesnake came out of the brush onto the path 5 feet in front of me. I stopped and the snake stopped. I had an instant spike of adrenaline. When that happened the snake took off across the path about 10 X as fast as it had been going. How did the snake sense my adrenaline?
