A common pro-vegan argument is that homo sapiens' common ancestor with apes, which are primarily herbivore/insectivore, is evidence that humans don't need to consume meat. Where exactly in the evolutionary ladder did humans start hunting other mammal/fowl as a sustainable source of calories?
