Stenocereus beneckei is a Near Threatened species from tropical deciduous forest in Mexico. Some of its many small subpopulations are threatened by land use change for farming. S. beneckei is known for its glaucous, farinose stems. Seedlings, rarely seen, have an unusually long hypocotyl.
