For fighting hunger pangs, I do a "predict and compare" thing, and I see others use similar. E.g. step 1 of 4 in "The Black Sun self-restraint tool" by Stutz & Michels. I suspect their steps 2-4 are redundant, but that brief introspection 1st step sure is something that can vouch for. (4 min video)
