Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayake has been appointed Acting S/DIG Admin, effectively making him the number two officer in the police. He replaces interdicted S/DIG Nilantha Jayawardena. With IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon also suspended by the SC, Pathinayake will be the A/IGP.
