Odd object that looks like a microchip with an opaque crystal formed on it, suspended in what I assume is a block of solid acrylic, about 1”x1/2”. Always kept in this old and worn white box with a piece of cotton and label which reads: “Jinny Jewels #1 Forest Court Larchmont, N.Y. 10538 TE 4-8681”

Is this grout? What is this method called? These are the tiles in the bathrooms of our new house. I've never seen tiles/grout like this - tiles are very thin and the "grout" feels like rough wall. It's 10+ years old.
