I don't know if this is the exact place to ask, but would the deaths in battles where melee weapons were primarily used (medieval, ancient, etc) be incredibly painful or would the adrenaline of battle cancel the pain of being stabbed, cut, etc, out?

A mixed drink or cocktail seems to only go back as far as a couple hundred years ago with Grog, Sazeracs, etc. However a mixed drink seems to be such a simple idea, so would the people of classical antiquity ever have mixed drinks aside from watered or spiced fermented beverages?
