In The Northman, there are multiple scenes where Vikings seemed to feel possessed by the spirit of a wolf. Did these Vikings literally believe they had become wolves, or did they just feel akin to certain archetypal characteristics of wolves (eg pack loyalty, viciousness, fearlessness, etc.)?

As a layman, I often hear a lot of bickering among historians about the fall of the Roman Empire. But before Rome, there was Greece. What’s history of the decline of the Greek empire? Furthermore, why don’t I hear as much about the Greece’s fall as I do about Rome’s fall?

In Ancient Greece and in Islam generous hospitality towards foreigners and guests was/is understood as a moral obligation. Did this phenomenon exist in other parts of the world historically? Was Islam influenced by this Ancient Greek tradition?
