The cables controlling the elevator in the Zero stretched, so that the response was roughly consistent throughout the plane's high speed range, which was at least new to Japanese craft. What were the other early examples of speed-adjusted controls? How did it become standard?

As candidate, President Trump re-appropriated at least four major pieces of rhetoric ("Make America Great Again," "Law and Order," "Silent Majority," and "America First") from past Republican campaigns. Is there a precedent for this? None comes to my mind.
