What were the effects on faith of military defeats suffered by dominant Christian faiths at the hands of Hussites, Ottomans, or other "heretics"/"pagans"? Did these drive Christian leaders or fighters to doubt? Did they inspire doubt among nobility, clergy, or peasantry about divine ordination?
