In the Lord of the Rings, Theoden King attempts to kill Grima Wormtongue but Aragorn physically stopped the king. Would this kind of physical restraint for a purpose like that be tolerated in a time like the High Middle Ages (1300 for instance) in Western Europe (HRE, France, Angevin Empire, etc)?
