I'm curious, was the 'Southern Switch all about racism? How did the more secular Anti-War 'New Left' sit with rural democrats? What about the uptick in crime? The Cold War? How about the growth of middle class? Or the Neo-liberal revolution of the late 70s and early 80s?

Reading up on the civil wars in Mozambique, Angola, the Rhodesian Bush War, and Namibia War, I'm noticing Botswana seems to be left out. Am I reading that correctly? How did they avoid the fighting? Did they play a role in these conflicts/were they affected by them?

Wikipedia says a number Japanese American sailors fought in the Spanish-American War, did they also serve in the Boxer Rebellion and the Great White Fleets visit to Japan? I'm curious what the native Japanese thought of their countrymen fighting for another country, do we have records like that?

The wiki page for the Tong Wars in California says the first Tong leader, Low Yet, was a former Red Turban rebel, and sites Richard H. Dillion as source. Except Dillion does not say that, he says he was Taiping rebel. What's the deal? Is there a piece of info wiki is leaving out? Or what?

According to Wikipedia there was a spike in demand for English wool in 1200's. Seeing as how Magna Carta, and the Barons Rebellions, the origins of the Robin Hood legend, and the expulsion of the Jews from England also took place in 1200s, is it possible these events are connected in anyway?

Russians sent two brigades to fight on the western front in ww1, but why didn't the allies send any troops to fight in Russia, especially toward the end of the war when they could have used the men?
