In “The Abolition of Work”, Bob Black states “factory wage workers in Northern American states and in Europe were worse off than Southern plantation slaves.”. Could the conditions of industrial workers in Europe & the North c. 1860 in any way be said to be worse than American chattel slavery c.1860?
