If Pinochet's coup was motivated in response to Allende's policy of resource nationalization, why did copper remain nationalized in Chile? In other words, why did the United States and Chilean corporations go through the trouble to support a coup if resources remained nationalized?

During the Korean War, MacArthur sent a letter to the Speaker of the House stating that "if we lose the war to communism in Asia the fall of Europe is inevitable, win it and Europe most probably would avoid war and yet preserve freedom." Is there any valid basis for MacArthur's claims?

"In the early colonial years, most Africans in the Thirteen Colonies were held under such contracts of indentured servitude. they were released after a contracted period with many of the indentured receiving land and equipment." If this is true, why weren't any black slave owners remaining later on?
