In WWII, did German military leadership hold opinions on the average allied soldier from different nations and incorporate these perceptions into strategy? i.e. The British soldier thinks and fights like X, so fight them like Y?

Up Until the 1960's the UK had similar military (particularly naval) presence and technology as well as power projection. What happened from the end of the 50's to the 60's for the change? Were the weight of WWII and losing colonies the primary reasons?

There's a lot out there about the combined staffs of WWII (rivalries and relationships, etc.). What about WWI, staffs were integrated, but I've never read much about how well they worked together or if there were significant personality conflicts.

Throughout the Medieval and Renaissance eras it seemed common for Cardinals (and other clergyman) to hold various administrative/diplomatic positions for governments/states, even lead men in battle. When did this stop being common, and was this also common for protestant/orthodox clergy?
