Why were bows never used in CQB like with guns today? Why did the tactics of bows and arrows so drastically differ from that of later firearms given they are both range weapons (though one is superior to the other)?

The work of Karl Marx was heavily inspired by and based on that of Adam Smith, David Ricardo (especially him, he probably had the greatest influence) and GWF Hegel. If these men had been able to read the work of Marx, what would they have thought?

What was the Soviet Economy actually like? How did it change over time? Is its reputation for systemic shortages and surpluses (not enough boots but too many coats, that sorta thing) deserved? Was Janos Kornal correct when he called it "The Shortage Economy"? Did this vary under different Gen Secs?
