In Hot Shots! Part Deux(1993), the scene where Ramada gets shot but her necklace locket takes the bullet is a reference to a scene in The Three Musketeers (1993) where Aramis (played by Charlie Sheen) gets shot but his necklace cross takes the bullet.

In Gladiator(2000), At the start of the first Colosseum battle Maximus asks “have any of you served in the army?” one of them responds “I served with you at Vindobona”. This was before Maximus revealed his identity, showcasing that the soldier kept it a secret out of sheer loyalty.
