On Wikipedia, it says the local population of Bedouins, Circassians and Christians in what's now Jordan supported the Hashemite dynasty, from what's now Saudi Arabia, to rule over the new Emirate of Transjordan. Why did this diverse local population support a foreign dynasty to rule over them?

Considering Hawaii is south of the Tropic of Cancer, and Article 5 of NATO only covers territory north of the Tropic of Cancer, why did the US agree to this, especially so soon after Pearl Harbor and did Hawaiians have any grief about this?
