During Nazi Germany, there were likely some non-members of the Nazi party who had awards or recognition letters signed by Hitler (municipal civil servants, student award winners, etc.). How did the recipients of these documents treat these documents after Hitler's defeat?

During the Cold War, why was there not as much suspicion of hard-left or social-democratic politics in the UK (where Harold Wilson became PM on a social-democratic platform) as in the US, where (in the McCarthy era and beyond) there existed mass suspicion of hard-left politics?

In movies, Christopher Marlowe and William Shakespeare are often portrayed as bitter rivals competing for recognition and status. Is there any historical evidence to back this up, and if so, what? Or is this simply a running fancy of screenwriters?
