I'm a Bronze age Mycenaean Bronze Smith, my work has a good reputation and my talents are in high demand. I need significant amounts of tin and copper to ply my trade. Greece has little of either. What does my supply chain look like?

It's 18th century, I'm a British Sgt. in a siege. I've just accomplished the impossible. As a "Forlorn Hope" I scaled the walls and opened the gates. I'm about to bridge the chasm from enlisted to officer as a reward. What can I expect from my career? Has anyone in this situation risen to General?

The Greek word for Zeus is Dios, correct? Which is the Latin word Deus, correct? So the same word used for the Christian "God" is derived from a word originally referring specifically to Zeus? Is that correct or am I missing something?

How were towers constructed and mounted on war elephants in antiquity? I read that during the assault on Argos, one of Pyrrhus elephants couldn't fit through the gate so they removed the tower and re-mounted it once through. This makes them seem possibly less difficult than they first appear.

Were War elephants used during the Middle Ages or did their use die out? I particularly mean Eastern Europe, the Near East, and Africa where they were once heavily used by the armies of antiquity.

How would a person go about legally freeing his slaves in Hellenic antiquity? Would they go before a court or ruler for approval? Or would he simply state it verbally and that would be that? Would the freed man receive a tablet or something stating he had received manumission?
