Did Alexander the Great develop any effective anti-guerilla tactics during his conquests in Central Asia (Afghanistan), or did he just move on to India once he established nominal control and before the locals grew ornery?

Human feces was considered very valuable in Asia and always collected for use in agriculture, up until at least the early 20th century. But I've heard little about human excrement collection and sales in the premodern West. Was there a "black gold," industry in Europe and the ancient Near East?

The Chinese and the Tibetans were conquered by the Manchus and incorporated into their empire. Now China claims Tibet. Isn't that like Singapore claiming India because they were both conquered by the British Empire? What context am I missing?
