Why are abs "shaped" the way they are? It seems weird to have 6 round muscles grouped together instead of maybe two long one that run down the stomach.

I'm 21. If I were to be unconscious for 40 years through a coma (or any other means, really), would I have the maturity of a 21 year old or a 61 year old?
