When declaring the old Arab goddesses Uzza, Manat and Al-Lat as nonexistent, the Qu'ran says that of the numerous angels none bear female names. This seems to imply that other traditional male deities *might* actually exist as angels. Was this position ever taken by Islamic theologians?
