How accurate is the image of the king/general leading the charge into battle during medieval warfare? If this did happen, how did the king survive? Was it just pure dumb luck or was there strategy to keeping the king alive in a charge?

Somebody brought up that they heard "Cracker barrel" might actually be related to some racist practice involving tying up slaves to a barrel and whipping them. We all are trying to look up if there is any truth to this but can't find any. Is there any racial connotations to "cracker barrel"?

So this video of Lars Anderson and explanation about all these misconceptions about archery has been circulating around. A lot of the video just says "He read the manuscripts and found _____ wasn't true." I am dubious of a lot of the claims. Can a historian separate what is and is not accurate?
