From the mid-18th century onwards, British-Native American relations generally improved. Some tribes fought for/with Britain against the USA in 1776 and 1812. Did regular British people's opinion of Natives improve alongside this?

In modern Western culture, first cousin marriage is taboo. In medieval Europe, first cousin marriage was taboo. But in Victorian England, it seems accepted: Victoria, Darwin, etc. My impression is it was also acceptable in the US at the time. Why did it become normal and then taboo again?
