Early Vedic religion seems to focus a lot on gods who are today quite minor in Hinduism, such as Indra, Agni, Rudra, etc, while now the most-worshipped gods seem to be ones who were pretty minor in early Vedic texts, like Shiva and Ganesh. How and why did this change occur?
