We look back now to the early 20th century with shock and amazement at the widespread use of radium, radium tonics and paint, etc. What things do we do now that will likely be looked back upon with similar shock and disbelief?

If large concentrations of potassium ions in the extracellular space prevent contractile and nervous tissue from depolarizing does that mean you could inject table salt substitute, KCl, solution in your veins and not be able to move?

If low frequency electromagnetic waves pass through most solid objects and high frequency ones are absorbed, i.e. radio vs. light, then why is it that the highest energy, gamma, can pass through things? Why isn't it like the rest of the spectrum in this way?

Aside from allergies and intolerances, do different foods have different effects on different people? I for one have an almost catnip like affinity for parsley.
