How does the eye/retina work so that everything in my plane of focus is perceived singly (this computer screen for example) but everything beyond or short of it is perceived doubly? E.g.. if I hold my hand in front of my face and look at it it's single but if I stare through it it becomes double

Do corresponding retinal points maintain the same counterpoint/partner in the other eye or are they always getting a new counterpoint/partner depending on each new visual situation?

Can we hear pure wind (the movement of air)? Not sound waves being produced by air (that travel at the speed of sound) But just the movement of air (which would travel at whatever speed it's moving, maybe a few mph rather than the speed of sound which is closer to 800 mph)

How are s m and l cones sensitive to different wavelengths of light? If an l cone is sensitive to long wavelengths (less energy) wouldn't it be even more sensitive to shorter wavelengths (higher energy)...?
