Ernst Heilmann, a prominent German politician nicknamed “the uncrowned king of Prussia” was detained, tortured and murdered by the Nazis over several years in the 30s. Was there domestic/international awareness or protest at this situation? Was Heilmann a particular threat to the Nazi party?
