At school I was taught that the Romans thought Britain would be a push over because the native tribes were too busy constantly fighting each other, to respond to external threats. Is there much/any evidence of this having been the case before the Romans came?

there's a bit in Schindler’s List where the doctor in Ghetto hospital gives the patience drugs to put them out before the soldiers come into shoot them. Would the people in the Ghetto have been attended by doctors who were Jews them selves because that's what the scene implies?
